Short answer: a fitted case for 100 rounds of 9mm Luger is about 106 x 177 x 38 mm (4.2 x 7.0 x 1.5 in) with a hinged lid; 50 rounds is 69 x 140 x 38 mm (2.7 x 5.5 x 1.5 in) and 200 rounds is 155 x 225 x 38 mm (6.1 x 8.9 x 1.5 in).
9mm dimensions that set the case size
A 9mm Luger cartridge has a 9.96 mm rim and is about 29.7 mm long overall. Each round gets a 10.6 mm pocket on 12.2 mm spacing, and the case is the cartridge length plus floor, headroom and lid: about 38 mm (1.5 in) tall with a hinged lid.
9mm case sizes by round count
| Holds | Hinged lid (mm) | Slide-off lid (mm) | Printed as |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 x 9mm | 69 x 140 x 38 | 71 x 130 x 39 | one plate |
| 100 x 9mm | 106 x 177 x 38 | 108 x 167 x 39 | one plate |
| 200 x 9mm | 155 x 225 x 38 | 157 x 215 x 39 | two parts |
The 100-round case is the sweet spot: it fits easily in a range bag, matches two standard boxes of 50, and prints in one piece. 200 rounds still fits one case, printed as two parts.
9mm plus magazines
Most people carry rounds and magazines together. Magazines store on edge in fitted slots next to the round pockets:
| Holds | Hinged lid (mm) |
|---|---|
| 100 x 9mm + 4 Glock 19 magazines | 241 x 140 x 42 |
| 50 x 9mm + 2 Glock 17 magazines + ear plugs | 221 x 112 x 42 |
Hinged or slide-off lid for 9mm?
A hinged lid with a snap latch is the better pick for a range bag - it stays shut and stays attached. A slide-off lid is a little shorter front to back (no hinge), sits flat on a shelf and has no moving parts. Both are available in the case builder; see hinged vs slide-off lids for the trade-offs.
Label it
If you also own .380 or .40 S&W, label every case - the rounds look alike at a glance. Our lid marking prints "9MM / 100 RDS" (or your own text) into the lid in a second color.
